Unit 29 - The comission of a music video

Music videos are commissioned after a lengthy process. Firstly a director would have to make a proposition to a record company like for example Warner bros. after deciding if they want to make your idea into reality. the directors generally only have at least 1 week to film with a budget of roughly £9000. then after the filming comes the post production in which the client can be quite critical saying what shots they liked and what shots they didn't like.

    Questions:
    You call the directors contact with a company a proposition? can you double check this term?
    You say a music video takes on average a week to shoot, are you sure?
    The £9000 budget was on the brief we looked at, do you think that there is ever a set fee for any type of production?

    The recording division is not called Warner Bros (that's the film arm) can you remember what they call the music division?
