Music videos are commissioned after a lengthy process. Firstly a director would have to make a proposition to a record company like for example Warner bros. after deciding if they want to make your idea into reality. the directors generally only have at least 1 week to film with a budget of roughly £9000. then after the filming comes the post production in which the client can be quite critical saying what shots they liked and what shots they didn't like.
